4 days agoImplants or not? I am a 67 female with Stage 3 breast cancer. I have gone through chemo treatments and a right breast mastectomy last May. I am on Kisquali for two more years and estrogen blocker for 9 more years. I wasn’t planning on any reconstruction surgeries. I have a prosthetic bra with an insert. I have found that majority of my clothes can’t be worn except teeshirts. I can buy new clothes but I like to swim and I want to feel comfortable in a swimsuits. I currently wear a tee shirt over my bathing suit. I have consulted a reconstruction surgeon. I’ve scheduled my implant surgery at the end of this summer. I’m hoping people can share their implant experience. I am aware of some of the risks. I am also small breasted and worried it’s going to take some used to bigger breast and more caution. Please share!

4 days agoThis is such a personal decision that deserves careful consideration with your medical team. Many community members have shared that reconstruction timing and choices vary widely based on individual circumstances, lifestyle preferences, and treatment plans. The concerns about clothing fit, swimming comfort, and adjusting to changes are completely understandable and often discussed here. Consider connecting with others who've navigated similar decisions by sharing more about what specific aspects of the experience would be most helpful to hear about.
