Hello I'm 5 months out of surgery and I keep getting a red spot on the side of my breast. It comes and goes but always the same mark in the same spot. It gets red, feels stinging. I've taken antibiotics and it goes away but comes back. This last time I took steroids which helped. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? My surgeons are at a loss as to what it could be. They said possibly some fluid.

It sounds frustrating to deal with recurring symptoms when even your medical team isn't sure of the cause. Persistent redness and stinging in the same spot after surgery can have various causes, and it's encouraging that both antibiotics and steroids have provided temporary relief. Many community members have shared similar experiences with post-surgical healing challenges that took time to resolve. Keep advocating for yourself with your surgical team, and consider asking about consulting with a dermatologist or wound care specialist if the pattern continues.
