I 46 and four weeks post bilateral mastectomy. Stage 0 DCIS in right breast and Stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma in left breast. Sentinal Node biopsy came back benign. My breast surgeon and oncologist suggested taking tamoxifen. Any one here who can provide support and advice?

Making treatment decisions after surgery can feel overwhelming, especially when weighing the potential benefits and side effects of medications like tamoxifen. Many community members have faced similar choices and found it helpful to discuss their concerns, experiences, and questions with others who understand this journey. Consider reaching out to your medical team with any specific questions about how tamoxifen might fit into your treatment plan, and feel free to connect with others here who may have navigated similar decisions.

I have been on tamoxifen for a little over a year. I make sure to take magnesium. I have gained some weight, I am more irritable. Other than that it isn’t too bad 😂. I Make sure to workout at least 5 days a week to keep my strength up.

I just started Tamoxifen 3 days ago. I was worried about side effects but so far nothing.
