Feeling scared about major surgery is completely natural and shows how much thought you're putting into this important decision. Many people in this community have faced similar feelings before significant procedures, and connecting with others who understand can provide valuable perspective and emotional support during this time.

While it's absolutely normal to feel scared, I'd encourage you to ask your surgeon about what specific aspects worry you most - sometimes breaking it down into smaller pieces with your medical team can help make the whole process feel more manageable.

7 days post DMX and immediate reconstruction SURGERY, and while not 💯 peachy keen yet, I am on the mend. The fear you feel is an absolutely normal feeling. But I agree with the previous poster, try to pick out the aspects that bring about the fear and pick those apart with your team until you enter the situation with confidence. You've got this!

You will be great! I had a dmx last May a month after trying the lumpectomy first and not having fully clear margins. I have to say the dmx wasn’t much more difficult than the lumpectomy. Except for the drains. The drains were the worst part and once they were out it was a fairly easy recovery. Just make sure to rest when you need it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me! Wishing you the very best!
