9 months agoPlease help me... I have been battling bilateral breast cancer since May 30, 2024. I had a double masectomy Jan 9 w/expanders. The expanders were a nightmare...so, they had to be removed. So, for the time being they are going to stay out until after I finish radiation. What I am needing help with is more advice than anything...what are some ways to change my wardrobe to suit the flat chest the best? Any recommendations of websites/retailers I can possibly shop..

Finding wardrobe options that work well for a flat chest can help boost confidence during recovery. Many online retailers now offer clothing specifically designed for post-mastectomy bodies, including tops with interesting necklines, layering pieces, and structured jackets that create flattering silhouettes without relying on chest curves. Consider looking for brands that specialize in adaptive clothing or post-surgery fashion, and don't hesitate to explore local boutiques that might offer personalized styling advice for your new wardrobe needs.

6 months agoHello Crytal I already past thru all that . And I had the expander for 3 months and half of this mount of February . Now let me tell you . It not easy yes is not . They feel strange and heavy , and you and your doctor have to know what size you want Ej : you was B or DD you want bigger or small , and they will considered you what size. And depending on what you want they will being feeling it into you say stop or More bigger ,more bigger more stretched your skin will streche, and they will do it fielded whit saline solution . It will feel like you have a very señal bra or tied bra . Other thing : you haveing Radiation . I did not have radiation I seeing your situation is because radiation . My Pladtic surgeon and oncologist and other had meetings together and discussed my health and they decision not to be under radiation because in my case it was not necessary . And I decided to do what I wanted , and they explained to me what is was and how and show the devices . NOW I HAVE MY Silicon INPLANT . But still in my immune Teraphy , but whit my INPLANT they don’t see the Seam that will happen and just wait into they fix into my body or get use to it : I prefer to put team fir my emotions like women because this of cancer . 6 months agoCrystal wear what you want to,maybe patterns would feel better. I was a B/C before surgery. Now I'm barely an A. I wear what I want,I don't care what my chest looks like to others. I just wish my chest didn't hurt. I do keep 2 sided garment tape for use with some dresses. I have those soft flat bras that have the insert in them, sometimes I add another padding to it
