7 days agoI'm having a mastectomy on Friday beside a button up clothes and mastectomy pillow what else would you recommend for an overnight stay in hospital to bring with me

7 days agoBringing comfortable slippers with good grip, extra-long phone charger, lip balm, and some favorite snacks can make the stay more comfortable. Consider packing loose-fitting pants or pajama bottoms, gentle toiletries, and perhaps a small comfort item like a soft blanket to help create a more restful environment during recovery.

7 days agoI'm 4 weeks out from Bilateral Mastectomy today. I went home the same day as my surgery which sounds scary but I was grateful to sleep in my own bed. If you dont have an adjustable bed at home, make sure you get a "wedge" pillow. Sleeping in a reclined position truly benefits recovery. I was told to use the wedge pillow and another pillow under your knees. 4 weeks out and I still cant sleep on my side but I am able to get a full night sleep as long as I'm reclined and not flat. Also, I've lived in 2 zip up sweatshirts that have inside pockets for my drains. Got the drains removed at 3 weeks but these sweatshirts are still what I reach for. Sending you lots of positive energy! You got this!

6 days agoMaybe some safety pens for the drains tubes. I ordered some zip up tops on Amazon that had pockets on the inside to hold the drains. Take care of yourself, you got this!

5 days agoI wasted so much time with a drains belt I got off of Amazon (drain pockets on a belt). Right before having my first set of drains taken out, I finally decided to use the maternity band a friend gave me. It was much better because it kept the drains secure and the lines inside the band. The other way felt like cow utters hanging down and SO uncomfortable.

3 days agoI used my robe tie to hold the pillow and ended up preferring my airplane neck pillow. Eyemask to sleep. Hope all went well today!!!
