Is there any reconstruction that is completed immediately after mastectomy. Ie same surgery?

Yes, I had abdominal flap surgery at the same time as my mastectomy. It was successful and looks much like my normal breast. I did have a nipple tattoo later though.

I was able to have a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction at the same time. I have implants, was not a candidate for dflap. My surgeons explained that depending on your skin, size, etc. they may or may not be able to do immediate reconstruction. I just wanted the same size, and they’re not very big.
