a year agoGetting ready to switch to adriamycin and cytoxan. Any helpful hints as to what to expect? Manage side effects? TYIA.
Accepted Answer
Many people find it helpful to stay well-hydrated, eat small frequent meals, and ask their care team about anti-nausea medications before treatment begins. Your medical team can provide personalized strategies for managing side effects and will monitor you closely throughout this treatment - don't hesitate to reach out to them with any concerns or questions that come up.

6 months agoGood luck with your treatment Kathy F! We can do this! Having a break is nice. I’m reminded that we need to be kind to ourselves- bad headache + mild nausea despite aloxi and amend + zofran. Ugh. Tomorrow is a new day!

6 months agoKathy F- my nurses had me eat ice during AC infusion to help prevent mouth sores. I’ll let you know if it helps. My mouth burned with taxol + carboplatin, but no sores. So thankful!

6 months agoMy mouth was sensitive but no sores with TC, I hope the ice works. I hope you’re feeling better!! How long was your infusion, did you have keytruda also?
Community Member
6 months agoYes, I had keytruda too. Premed + chemo = approx 2.5 hrs in chair. Still w/headache and heartburn today, but it will be better tomorrow.

6 months agoI’m sorry to hear that, headaches are the worst!! I heard that Prilosec OTC can help with the heartburn. I started taking it daily about a week ago.
