Hello everyone! New here. Has anyone had a recurance since finishing treatment? If so, how long after and what were your symptoms? I'm 2 yrs post treatment and having anxiety because I'm experiencing diarrhea, and neck pain since July 7. Seeing doc next week, but wanted to know what the community has experienced because my oncologist is strictly textbook, and I'm not sure that's right for everyone.

Many community members have shared experiences with recurrence concerns and the anxiety that comes with new symptoms after treatment. It's completely understandable to feel worried when experiencing changes in your body, and reaching out to both your medical team and this supportive community shows great self-advocacy. While waiting for your appointment, connecting with others who understand the unique challenges of triple-negative breast cancer can provide valuable perspective and emotional support during this anxious time.

Hi. After my first diagnosis, five years later, I was diagnosed again on my other breast. My treatment was to get a double Masectomy. I , too, have anxiety of recurring. Always continue with your doctor recommendations.

Its normal to be anxious...make sure you get a CT scan of abdomen/PET CT recommended by your doctor.

Hi there. I’m TNBC too just finished radio, after 6 months chemo & lumpectomy. It was grade 3, & 27mm one breast. No lymph involved. I too have neck pain it’s very stiff. What’s that all about? Any ideas please?

First time I was a 1B; mastectomy & chemo. 2.5 years later my CA125 slightly elevated; indicating cancer somewhere. Mammogram showed nothing. PET scan showed it went directly out of breast to InterMammary lymph node; inoperable; Stage 4. Put on taxol & keytruda (PN forestalled the use of Carbo.) 2 months into chemo PET scan showed cancer in IMN "resolved". Need to continue chemo & keytruda & I assume? Radiation.

Hi everyone, all scans came out clear , except suspicious mass that no one can identify in esophagus. Trying to get in for MRI soon. I seriously think an endoscopic ultrasound would be best, so I'll pitch that to my doc. I'll keep you posted. Hugs to all🥰

I had TNBC 8 years ago and it’s just come back. Same breast, same size (3 cm) very quick growth (a matter of a few weeks to get to this size). Neo adjuvant chemo killed it completely the first time so I had a lumpectomy then. I’ve now had a mastectomy and opted to go flat (the possible complications from the radiotherapy I had the last time were too onerous for a reconstruction for me). No lymph node involvement and clear margins. Just waiting to start chemo now. I would add that in the intervening 8 years I’ve had about 5 “scares” which turned out to be nothing. When I found this most recent lump I knew straight away what it was as it felt identical to the first one. Good luck with your treatment. I’ve found this time having sertraline prescribed has made a WORLD of difference to how I’m coping. Wish I’d known about it then. 😊

I just found out on the 10th that I now have cancer in my left (opposite) breast. I don't have all the facts yet except that it's a grade 3 still waiting on the hormone results. I finished chemo in July of 2023 and I finished radiation in October of 2023. I discovered the new lump the end of September. I still feel very fatigued from the first cancer treatment. I just haven't bounced back. Other than that I had no symptoms.

Hi all! Update: couldn't get an MRI scan until next Monday. Doctor wants me to go in for endoscopy asap, but the gastro can't see me until November and that's just for a consult. Doctor says he's not really worried about the mass being malignant, as he feels it's probably a benign cyst of some sort. Also, the only reason for asap is to get it done by end of year since I've met my out of pocket😆. Will keep all posted. SamU and Monica E, I'm so sorry you have to go through this again. My thoughts are on you both as well as all of us going through this constant challenge and uncertainty and trying to find our new normal, whatever that may be. Hugs to all🤗
