What is the life expectancy for triple-negative metaplastic breast cancer?

In July of 2023, I had surgery to remove the tumors in my left breast and reconstruct the right to match. I was told I had triple-negative metaplastic cancer of my left breast. I had chemo and radiation after surgery. In 2012 I had an organ transplant so because of the autoimmune meds I'm on, I'm not able to take any other treatment. I was wondering if anyone knows the life span of this type of cancer. I know everyone is different but I'm just curious and can't seem to get an answer from the cancer team. Thanks for your help, Sue

Triple-negative metaplastic breast cancer prognosis varies greatly from person to person, and many factors beyond cancer type influence outcomes, including response to treatment, overall health, and individual circumstances. It's completely understandable to want more specific information about prognosis, and many patients find it helpful to have direct conversations with their oncology team about their particular situation and what the statistics mean for them personally.

Hi Sue, Hope you're doing well. May I ask which chemo drugs you were on to treat this. I was diagnosed with triple negative metaplastic squamous cell carcinoma of the left breast as well. I got a mastectomy last January. The chemo they had me on initially did not work and the tumor grew rapidly on chemo. I was also on Keytruda (destroyed my pituitary gland so I had to stop). Following the mastectomy, I was put on another chemo and got really sick and it did not work either. I completed radiation and still have two masses in my lungs. These apparently have been there since I began treating. Nothing has responded to chemo. Thankfully, I got the breast tumor removed through the mastectomy. I don't know what treatments are out there for metaplastic carcinoma Thanks for any input you may have
