2 days agoI had my first chemo and will get my second next week. My scalp is sensitive and some hair has come out. What do you recommend to wash my scalp once the hair is gone?
Accepted Answer
Gentle, fragrance-free baby shampoos or specialized scalp cleansers designed for sensitive skin are often recommended for tender scalps during treatment. Many people in similar situations find that lukewarm water with a very mild, moisturizing cleanser works well, and some even use just water on particularly sensitive days. It's always worth checking with your care team about products they specifically recommend, as they know your situation best and may have samples or suggestions tailored to your treatment plan.

15 hours agoI use a combined shampoo with conditioner. For me it is important to keep my scalp moisturized. I have finished my 6 rounds of 3 dose chemo and on Keytruda every 6 weeks now. That will last until April 2027. My hair is growing back. My biggest side effect now is tiredness. I am still dealing with numbness in my feet and fingers from the chemo. I have been told that could last a year and may not totally come back.
