a month agoI was diagnosed with Stage 1b Endometrial Cancer. I had a complete hysterectomy and 28 radiation treatments in the pelvic area. I had my first CT scan and my radiation Oncologist said it came back normal. Is it normal to have some trace free fluid seen in the pelvic superior to the urinary bladder, with a tiny focus of fluid seen between the urinary bladder and an adjacent bowel loop?
Accepted Answer
Small amounts of free fluid in the pelvis can be a normal finding on CT scans, especially after surgery and radiation treatments. Many people notice similar findings on their follow-up scans, and it's encouraging that your radiation oncologist described the overall scan as normal. Consider asking your medical team about what specifically makes your scan results reassuring to them, as they have the full picture of your case and can provide the most accurate interpretation of your imaging findings.
