Has anyone experienced lung nodules after completing cancer treatment?

Hello Everyone, I thought I was done with all my treatments; I had finished my total hysterectomy surgery, chemo, then external, and internal brachytherapy treatments on August 12th. My hair is just barely growing back, very dark brown with white (I’ve been blonde my entire life), I had a follow-up CAT scan on September 19th. Sadly, they found numerous modules in both lungs. We are devastated. The nodules were not there in February. I am scheduled for a PET scan next on October 14th to help give a definitive diagnosis. Other than an infection (no symptoms), it can only mean metastasis. Has this happened to anyone? It is so very hard not to think the worst. We’re grabbing at straws…

Finding lung nodules after completing treatment can be incredibly frightening and overwhelming, especially when waiting for more definitive answers from upcoming scans. Many community members have shared similar experiences of unexpected findings during follow-up care, and the waiting period before getting clear results is often described as one of the most challenging parts of the cancer journey. This community understands the difficulty of trying to stay hopeful while facing uncertainty, and there are others here who can relate to what you're going through right now.

Hello Suzanne, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer this past Friday. Im waiting for the oncology surgeon to call tomorrow. I have been having ongoing health issues since covid including lung nodules. One nodule has grown. Now with the new cancer diagnosis, I like you, am terrified of the worst. I will be praying for you and giving this to God, for his grace mercy and healing. Sending prayers and hugs! 💕🙏

Dear Melissa, you are so very kind to write! I am keeping you in my prayers, as well. We need to support each other through all the tough times, lest we just give up. We have too much to live for. We may be scared, but we have the support of our loved ones and this community to help get us through. Please know you are not alone… God speed. 🙏

Thank you all for your support, and I’m sending it right back to all of you. I got the results of my PET scan on Wednesday; tragically it confirmed metastases in both lungs. I have a Bronchoscopy with biopsy scheduled for October 24th. Then we will definitively know what we are facing. Cancer sucks… take good care🙏❤️‍🩹

Unreal, but my tests are still inconclusive. The lung biopsy showed no cancer, but a repeat PET scan showed more activity and the nodules had grown a bit. I’m having a second Bronchoscopy and biopsy on January 15th. If the cancer has spread, we are going to do immunotherapy. I’m told the side effects can be severe. The emotional trauma is overwhelming…

Dear Sheron, tragically, the second Bronchoscopy and biopsy on January 16th showed that my endometrial cancer has spread to my lungs, we are going to try immunotherapy- Keytruda and Levatjnib. This has been my greatest fear. I’m told these drugs have a ton of side affects; I’m just praying I can tolerate them. Some have had very good results; all we can do is keep on praying. Thank you so very much for your prayers! We are praying for everyone on this site…

so sorry to hear that. yes, when we are told things look clear we never know where else it will pop up. and worse when we cannot afford certain things...so wish I could help somehow. like everyone tells me, keep a positive attitude😳. Still hoping and praying for the best.

Thank you so much, Sharon. I appreciate your kind words and courage. I am keeping you in my prayers, as well. It helps to know that others truly understand and that we don’t have to face all this alone. My best wishes!
