6 days agoI’m jeanna I’m a 29 year old skater from Texas now living in Oregon. I have HER2+ breast cancer and a fractured neck. I just finished radiation on my neck and am gonna move onto the other spots now. I lost all my taste buds and whatever I can still get a hint of tastes so gross. I weigh 100lbs even and can’t lose anymore weight but it’s so hard to eat like this on top of the nausea. Any way to navigate these things?

6 days agoDealing with taste changes and nausea during radiation treatment is incredibly challenging, especially when maintaining weight becomes a concern. Many cancer patients find that experimenting with different textures, temperatures, and mild seasonings can help - sometimes cold or room temperature foods are easier to tolerate, and small frequent meals throughout the day can be more manageable than larger portions. Consider reaching out to a registered dietitian who specializes in oncology nutrition, as they can provide personalized strategies for getting adequate calories and nutrients during this difficult phase of treatment.
