We’re announcing today that Outcomes4Me now includes prostate cancer as a supported cancer type. Starting immediately, prostate cancer patients can use our free app to learn more about their specific diagnosis, receive personalized treatment options based upon the latest science and recommended therapies, and ask questions to oncology nurse practitioners–all at no charge.
We’re able to offer this unique resource because our AI-driven patient empowerment platform is the first direct-to-patient digital platform to integrate with the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) and translate them into personalized, actionable guidance for patients. Essentially, we take the guidelines written by and for the best oncologists in the world and then use AI and machine learning to personalize the guidelines for each patient, in a format patients can easily access and discuss with their oncology team.
Our collaboration with the NCCN, the not-for-profit alliance of 33 leading cancer centers, ensures that our users are empowered with the clinical, evidence-based knowledge they need to best navigate their cancer diagnosis and care. You can learn more about the significance of our relationship with the NCCN here.
We know that we’re meeting a pressing need: one in eight men will receive a prostate cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer for men in the U.S. (behind lung cancer). Though it’s a common disease, prostate cancer has very favorable outcomes when caught early and treated correctly; however, a general oncologist would need to spend 29 hours a working day reading to keep pace with the treatment innovation that could influence their patients, which is impossible. Outcomes4Me can provide additional, evidence-based support so prostate cancer patients can make informed decisions about their own care, in partnership with their oncologist.
With this announcement, Outcomes4Me now supports breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and prostate cancer–in addition to our general cancer offering, which is not cancer-type specific, but any cancer patient can utilize to track and manage symptoms, access cancer-treatment resources, and connect with an oncology nurse practitioner to answer questions.
By joining the Outcomes4Me community, prostate cancer patients gain access to information and resources that can help them better manage their disease.
