What to expect with breast expander after mastectomy?

an hour agoI’ve completed chemotherapy for Her2+ breast cancer. Next month, I’m scheduled for a unilateral mastectomy. During the procedure, they’ll insert an expander that will be filled with fluid using a syringe until it reaches the desired size. Has anyone experienced this process before?
