Does BCG work after a small tumor returns?

Hi, I have just finished my first 6 weeks of BCG for high grade NMIBC and had my first follow up cystoscopy! Unfortunately there was a 2-3 millimeter tumor present! My doctor says this is a sign that my BCG may be a failure! She said we could try a second round to make sure it absolutely isn’t working because my body may need a bit more to kick start it! Has anyone out there had this happen and had a second 6 dose treatment that worked?? I am being offered trials but am not interested in those unless I exhaust all proven options first!!!

It's understandable to feel concerned about finding a small tumor after your first BCG treatment, and many patients do experience varying responses to initial therapy. Some people in the community have shared that their bodies needed additional time and treatment cycles to respond effectively to BCG, so exploring a second round with your medical team could be a reasonable approach. Consider sharing your experience here - other community members who have been through similar situations may offer valuable insights about their treatment journeys.
