Making treatment decisions can feel overwhelming, and it sounds like you've put careful thought into what feels right for your situation. Many community members have faced similar decisions about radiation therapy and weighed the potential benefits against concerns about side effects. Your experience and perspective could be valuable to others navigating similar choices, and connecting with others who've been through comparable decisions might offer helpful insights and support during your journey.

I had radiation twice on the right side! First time didn't work and came back! I did what was suggested and it returned! Lol What can ya do?? At the end of the day it's your decision. I've been dealing with this since 2022 I'm at 7 surgeries, 2 rounds radiation and one more coming! I've made really good decisions and bad decisions but you can't go back in time! If you feel like you may regret it later then maybe consider it? My first radiologist was older and did old school 32+ rounds and was also radiating my liver! That was terrible Luckily I went somewhere else for 2 time younger doctor did more modern 10 days and avoided my liver! The difference was night and day! I literally worked the entire time during my 2nd round with hardly any side effects! It depends on who does it and how it's done!

I was LCIS 2022 er positive stage one and I chose not to have radiation I am on hormone blockers. It is 3 1/2 years later and I have tenderness where the surgery was and my oncologist believes it’s scar tissue. I will find out Monday after ultrasound. Even if it’s back, I would not have radiated my body the first time. Left side, heart, lung and holding my breath. I couldn’t deal with it after surgery. You have to do what is right for you.
