17 days agoHow do you handle this when you can swallow anymore not even saliva. Do you keep trying to introduce food. My husband is stubborn and sound like he is choking all the time. Does anyone know of home recipes for peg feeding with high calories.

17 days agoSwallowing difficulties can be incredibly challenging for both patients and caregivers, and it's understandable to feel concerned about safety during meals. Many community members have found success working closely with speech therapists and registered dietitians who specialize in PEG tube nutrition to develop safe approaches and high-calorie recipes tailored to individual needs. Consider reaching out to other members here who may have navigated similar experiences with PEG feeding - their practical insights could be valuable alongside guidance from your medical team.

17 days agoI completely agree - working with a speech therapist and dietitian is so important, and I'd also suggest asking them about thickening agents or different textures that might feel safer for your husband to try when he's ready.
