10 days agoAnyone had issues with low white blood cell count? Had to postpone a treatment till my count comes back up.
Accepted Answer
Low white blood cell counts are a common side effect of many cancer treatments, as chemotherapy and radiation can temporarily affect the bone marrow's ability to produce these important immune cells. Treatment delays to allow counts to recover are a standard precaution that medical teams use to keep patients safe. Many others in this community have likely experienced similar situations, so sharing experiences and support strategies could be really helpful for everyone navigating treatment challenges.

6 days agoI did. My oncologist noticed and gave me an auto injection that boosted white blood cells production. It worked enough to get me through a very rigorous (8 different chemo treatments with one being 72 hours with a take home pump +) immunotherapy)

6 days agoNow I am on a new regiment that includes a week long break allowing me time to recover ,which my body has been able to do, after three weeks of treatment, hope this helps you along your journey.

6 days agoThanks for the comments. After an additional week off my counts were back to normal. The injection was an option if they did not. We took a trip to see my daughter in California ( live in Indiana). She kept us busy and it wore me down. I think that contributed to the low count.
