I have finished my first 8 rounds of chemo 3 weeks ago. Now trying to build myself back up to endure the surgery. Has any experienced an extreme fatigue and constant nausea that feels like butterflies in my stomach. I have my appetite and am eating high protein and caloric foods but the metallic taste makes it not so pleasant. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do to calm the stomach?

Managing fatigue and nausea after chemo while preparing for surgery is incredibly challenging, and these symptoms are common experiences in the esophageal cancer community. For the metallic taste and stomach discomfort, many patients find relief through small frequent meals, ginger-based remedies, staying hydrated with electrolyte drinks, and working closely with their medical team about anti-nausea medications - it's worth discussing these persistent symptoms with your healthcare provider to ensure you're getting the best support during this recovery phase.

Yes, that’s part of the healing process. Don’t fight it, sleep is very important at this point
