a month agoYes, may God watch over all of us and heal us. What stage are you? I am HER2+, stage 4. (Originally stage 2 in 2017 with a return of it in 2022 as metastatic, or stage 4 ) My blood work is good, but I continue to fight off metastatic stage 4 "spots".

a month agoMany community members have shared experiences with different hemoglobin levels before needing transfusions, and it's encouraging that you're staying on top of your blood work and working with your care team. The decision for transfusion timing varies for each person based on many factors beyond just the numbers, so discussing your fatigue levels and how you're feeling overall with your oncologist can help guide the best approach for your situation.

14 days agoI’ve not had a blood transfusion but mine hemoglobin was 8.5 and wbc was 2.7 and my rbc counts were low to but by the next week everything had went back up on the normal low side but up. My rbc seems like it’s always low but they said that since the chemo kills good blood cells my bone marrow is trying to keep up my rbc and that’s just what chemo does but my wbc is always back n forth and mine hemoglobin had went up to 9.7 so they were happy with all that so I never had anyone blood transfusion. Several years ago I had a hysterectomy and after I got home since it was outpatient surgery I started hurting really bad so my hubby took me to the ER and I had internal bleeding somewhere and my hemoglobin then was 6.4 and I did have to have two blood transfusion to get it back up but also had a lot of other complications to and ended up back in surgery to stop the bleeding and a long hospital stay but that was the only time I’ve ever had to have a blood transfusion.
