a year agoI recently had a CT/PT scan which showed uptake in my L5-S1 spine. I was taken off of herceptin and perjeta and given kadcyla for new cancer. I was sent to the ER due to foot drop and had a MRI with and without contrast of lumbar and sacrum. Doc told me there is no new cancer. The area has no lesions. Where is the truth?

Scan results showing different findings can definitely feel confusing and concerning, especially when dealing with treatment changes. The good news is that your MRI showed no new cancer or lesions in that area, which suggests the uptake on the CT/PET scan might be related to other factors like inflammation or previous treatment effects rather than active disease. It's completely understandable to want clarity between these results - consider asking your oncologist to explain how they interpret both scans together and what this means for your current treatment plan moving forward.
