Treatment decisions can feel overwhelming, especially when weighing different timing options for surgery and therapy. Many community members find it helpful to discuss their concerns with their medical team, ask about the reasoning behind each approach, and consider factors like personal preferences and support systems. The experiences and insights shared by others in this community who have faced similar decisions might also provide valuable perspective as you work through this important choice.

I am currently on the the same treatment. Taxol so far hasn’t been bad for me. I’m going on my 4 th cycle on Monday. I haven’t had any side affects.

Did you do it before surgery or after surgery ? That’s my dilemma . Even if it shrinks if I do pre sx I still want mastectomy . What was your decision ?

Taxol didn’t effect me until 6th week. Headaches, nose bleeds,, neuropathy, hair loss etc.

I am triple positive and am currently in Taxol, 6 cycles before mastectomy. I chose double mastectomy as I’ve spoken with survivors that has to go back and repeat the treatment when returned. Although there are no guarantees peace of mind is telling me to remove both to lessen chances of recurrence. Hope that helps
