4 days agoI started tamoxifen 29mg a few weeks ago. I was already going through perimenopause as I am 47 years old.i have a history of mental health issues along with being a recovering addict and alcoholic. Prior to starting tamoxifen I was already on an emotional rollercoaster. I am now feeling so unstable, not worrisome but much worse than before. My blood pressure has gone from 110/60's to now 150/90's range along with supercharging my perimenopausal symptoms. I had a double mastectomy Aug 5th 2026. I almost feel like I don't want to take it anymore. I will be discussing with my oncologist but just wondering if anyone else felt the same. As a reference I had IDC stage 1c.

3 days agoSide effects from tamoxifen can feel overwhelming, especially when they compound with existing challenges like perimenopause and mental health concerns. Many patients experience mood changes and other symptoms when starting this medication, and bringing these concerns to your oncologist is exactly the right step. The community here understands how difficult it can be to balance treatment benefits with quality of life, and sharing your experience helps others who may be facing similar struggles.
