7 months agoDealing with difficulties swallowing during radiation
Accepted Answer
Swallowing difficulties during radiation can be challenging and uncomfortable. Many community members find that small adjustments like eating softer foods, taking smaller bites, or staying well-hydrated can help, though it's always best to discuss specific strategies with your care team who knows your treatment plan.

6 months agoHello Luanne, I experienced this issue during chemo treatment. I had no idea what was going on, and when I mentioned it to the team, they looked at me like I had three heads. I stopped complaining to them and read up about it. I don't remember how long it lasted for, but it did scare me on top of everything else. I just started eating only softer stuff that was easier to swallow. Eventually, it eent away. I'm sure there is something they can give to you, but I just didn't ask as they made me feel I was nuts.

a month agoYes the radiation burned my throat. It took 6 weeks before I could eat solid food. That was the second time around for me. My hell started almost 13 yrs. ago. But somehow u learn to deal with it. It isn’t easy believe me I know. But with encouragements and writings u get on here u realize we’re all basically in the same place-trying to survive. Anyway I hope u have an easy time and that u feel better. I know it’s hell!!!!! My name is Mary
