Many people in the breast cancer community have shared similar experiences with heart-related side effects while on anastrozole, so you're definitely not alone in noticing these changes. It's great that your doctor is being proactive by ordering tests and referring you to a cardiologist - this kind of thorough monitoring is exactly what you need to stay on top of your health during treatment.

I went to the ER the other night with a rapid heart rate and irregular beat. I can't help but think it's tied to Letrozole I've been on for a few months. I'm trying to get in to see my oncologist. I can't imagine all the side effects for 5 years.

I was taking Lettozole. I had many side effects. Achy joints, headache, hair loss, but when they noticed a spike in my liver they took me off of it. That was the first time. 15 yrs later, with no symptoms or at least no normal tell tale symptoms like a lump, which is what they tell you to be aware of, I am here again but this time it is stage 4 metastatic Breast Cancer. I had been going to mammograms every 6 months with ultrasounds and was told everything was fine. Even had a bone density test and was told that was fine so I don’t know what signs or signals we should be looking for. It was a fluke how I was diagnosed. Don’t want to scare anyone but they have not figured this breast cancer thing out yet, but I know our treatments are very expensive and it seems everyone has breast cancer. So what gives??? Hate to think the doctors are profiting at our expense.

Hi Annette that’s so sad. How did they find it? I do hope it’s somewhere they can get rid of it. So many stories on here and not a club I wanted to be a part of but my heart goes out to us all.

Yes I was in the ER a few days ago with a racing heart and felt it pounding in my neck. I'm on Letrozole for a few months. My oncologist told me to stop and will be going to see him in about 2 weeks. Also, I'm going to my husband's cardogist to have him check my heart
