Does radiation alone work for early lung cancer?

I was diagnosed in 2019 with stage 1 non small cell adenocarcinoma also. I had a lobectomy and was cancer free for almost 5 years but just before that anniversary, I developed another adenocarcinoma and had 5 targeted radiation treatments in 2024. Then in 2025, I had another pop up and I had 3 targeted radiation treatments. My radiation oncologist wanted me to have either targeted chemo or immunotherapy but the chemo oncologist didn’t feel I needed either at that time. Now another one that was too small to show before the last radiation treatments was visible in my recent CT scan and PET scan. I’m not sure yet what my oncologist will suggest to try to destroy this one but I’m not a candidate for radiation this time. All of my radiation treatments were painless and it only took me approximately 6 months to recover from the soreness of the lobectomy.

I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma in my right lower lobe in 2023. Had my lower lobe of my right lung removed. In 2025 it came back in my upper and middle lobes. I then had CyberKnife treatments 5 ever other day for a total of seven. Present I have 2 spots in my middle lobes right side. Oncologist recommended immunotherapy. I currently on my 3rd round of Keytruda. Minimill side effects.
