How do I handle mental health in prostate cancer survivorship?

I have intermediate-risk prostate cancer and I'm thinking about survivorship planning. I came across an article about how mental health should be part of your survivorship plan, and it really got me thinking. The article mentioned that about 25% of cancer survivors experience ongoing anxiety and depression, and that the end of treatment can bring mixed emotions - relief, confusion, fear of recurrence, and everything in between. As I navigate my treatment decisions and plan for what comes after, I'm realizing that emotional well-being is just as important as physical recovery. I'd love to hear from others with similar diagnoses about their experiences. • How did you handle the mental health side of survivorship planning? • What helped you manage emotions during and after treatment? It's thoughtful that you're recognizing mental health as a key part of your survivorship journey early on. Many cancer survivors find that addressing emotional well-being alongside physical recovery helps them feel more prepared and resilient throughout the process. Support groups, counseling, mindfulness practices, and staying connected with others who understand this experience can all be valuable tools for managing the complex emotions that come with cancer treatment and survivorship.
