What's it like after CDK4/6 inhibitors for stage IV breast cancer?

Lisa, I would get tested for cancer mutations. Then, find a drug that targets your mutation, if you have one. I feel like I wasted 2 years with any 7 different traditional chemo because none of them improved my lesions. Finally, I started a targeted therapy and saw some improvement. But, my body was so worn out I stopped treatment to let my body recover for a couple of months.

I have been fighting multiple cancers now since 2011. I'm just so tired. And lost.

I am fighting with breast cáncer since 2017, bones metástasis in 2023 and know líver metástasis, i am tired too, i have talked with my doctor because the side effects are heavy and in some point i don't will fight more .

Elsa have they suggested Enhertu ? It's helping me a lot! I have the same cancer type but only since 2022.

The addition of the liver complication was discovered this summer

Hello Everyone!! I have Stage IV. I am currently on Kisquali and Letrozole. Also, quarterly infusions of Zometa for bone strength. I have to be careful around crowds because I have become more vulnerable to colds and viruses. My oncologist has me on a anti inflammatory diet and I have to exercise everyday (15-20 minutes). Diet, exercise, mental health are also part of the healing process, not just meds alone. There is no cookie cutter approach and everyone’s treatment plan and experiences do vary. Please, please , please stay vigilant and keep asking questions. My faith is strong and I am doing so much better than I was upon my diagnosis, almost 4 years ago now. Also, ask about clinical trials if your current treatment plan is not working. There are so many more promising options available!!! Praying everyday and sending love and hugs to every awesome warrior in this community 💕

Pamela J - I am on the same - Letrozole, Kisqali, Zometa. Stage 4 with metastasis to my vertebrae. My white blood count drops during the last 7 days of the 21 day Kisqali cycle. I am very active in my daily life but occasionally I have a meltdown. Then I get over myself and pray and go forward. It’s just a new normal and God is with me at all stages.

My Truqap treatment is not working to my liver, the doctor will change to Enhertu every 3 weeks, anybody with this medication? Side effects?

My seventh anniversary was in August. I was on Ibrance and Aromasin for four years and on Kisqali for about a year. I started on Enhertu in April after a liver biopsy showed two small lesions. I’ve also been on Orserdu for three years because I have the ESR1 mutation. My tumor markers have decreased from 514 in March to 73 in September, so I am very thankful that my oncologist suggested going on Enhertu every 3 weeks. I have very minimal side effects too. Orserdu can increase your cholesterol, so you need to have that checked. It’s so important to be on the best medicine for your diagnosis. Blessings, Sue

Lisa, I have the same diagnosis. It was discovered in February and I'm on my 6th cycle of Kisqali and the monthly anti hormone injections and the infusion for bone. How did you know the Kisqali didn't work? My bone "irritations" are decreasing but my kidney values have plummeted to 40

Lisa, I am with you on this willingness to give up. I've been fighting since Jan 2016. I've been on every chemo available. Except Truqap for which I have the mutations. I started Truqap in Jan, reduced dose in Mar, stopped and hospitalized June due to side effects. Restarted in Sept, I still have side effects, but control them with Lomitil. We're retesting for mutations, waiting on results. Scans at the end of Oct. If I don't have an ERS1 mutation, I'm done.

Ive been recently diagnosed with mbc with bone mets in spine and hip. Im on letrozole and my second round of kisqali. My question is what are mutations? Never heard that term before.
