Treatment is finally starting to take its toll on my bones. MO said I will start Zometa infusions. I’ve been feeling really good on my current treatment and hate to have to add anything else in the mix.

Managing bone health during cancer treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when treatments have been going well otherwise. Many people in the metastatic breast cancer community find that bone-strengthening medications become an important part of their care plan, and it's completely understandable to have mixed feelings about adding another treatment to the routine.

The chemo nurses gave me a tip for Zometa. Take Claritin for a few days before, day of, and a few days after. It really helps with the bone pain that can be a side effect.

I've been on Zometa since February 2023. The only bad thing that happened is the day after my first infusion I thought I was going to die. It was like having four different types of flu all at once. I wanted nothing to do with any more of it. The second time I took some Claritin and had no side effects at all. I've never had problems with it again. I guess it's like everything else with cancer; prepare yourself mentally, do the next thing and hope for the best. And take a nap 😴. 😁

I was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 BC after 11 years in remission from stage 2. With my newest diagnosis I am having zometa infusion every 3 months. It takes less than 30 minutes and has worke tremendously to reduce the bone pain. I am also having ENHERTU infusion every 21 days. and I have improved, I pray you have similar experience.
