How do you manage multiple cancer symptoms like pain, nausea, and fatigue?

I'm currently dealing with several challenging symptoms including pain, nausea, depression, insomnia, and shortness of breath. My medication list includes Oxycodone and Norco (hydrocodone plus acetaminophen) for pain, Ondansetron for nausea, Furosemide for fluid buildup, plus Iron and Vitamin D3 supplements. Managing all these symptoms together feels overwhelming sometimes, and I know I need to stay in close contact with my oncology team about adjustments. I'd love to connect with others who have experienced similar multiple symptoms during their cancer journey and hear about your experiences. • How did you cope day-to-day when dealing with several symptoms at once? • What helped you communicate effectively with your care team about symptom management?

I was dx mbc to spine pelvis and liver. I take the same meds plus Imodium for diarrhea. I take it one day at a time. I sleep when I can, eat when I'm able. Spend time with family and friends when I'm up to it. My onc doc listens to me I keep him up to date on how I'm feeling and what side effects are occurring. We work together to find what's best for me. Take your time and look for what makes the side effects worse and avoid them if you can. Good luck to you. Communicate with the doctor and the team and you won't feel so overwhelmed. 🙂

Managing multiple symptoms at once can feel incredibly overwhelming, and reaching out to connect with others who understand this experience shows real strength. Creating a daily symptom tracking system and preparing specific examples before appointments can help make conversations with your care team more productive, while connecting with fellow community members who've navigated similar challenges can provide valuable emotional support and practical coping strategies.
