Why do good people die from cancer so quickly?

Hello everyone. I am a cancer survivor. Ovarian cancer. The reason I came in here, though, is not for me, it is because I recently lost a dear friend to pancreatic cancer. She didn't know she had it until it was too late. She was diagnosed in August and passed away this past Sunday. It happened so fast. No time for goodbyes, no time to say I'll see you again. I just don't understand why this happens to such good people. She was a great friend. A good person with a good heart. Cancer really sucks.

Cancer doesn't discriminate based on character, and the loss of someone so special feels especially unfair and heartbreaking. Pancreatic cancer is particularly aggressive and difficult to detect early, which explains the rapid progression, though that knowledge doesn't make the grief any easier to bear. This community understands the weight of these losses and the questions that come with them.

I'm so very sorry. My mom passed away from pancreatic cancer. In January I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer.

Im so sorry to hear that. My older sister passed from liver cancer about 13 years ago at age 50. 3 days after diagnosis. Was in a coma 12hrs after going to the ER. I'm presently dealing with stage 4 prostate metastasized to bone in 3 spots. Been through radiation and currently on two different testosterone blockers. So far Im lowering PSAs every 3 months at blood tests. Gone from 121 to .3 so far. Im still in the gym working out three days a week to combat muscle mass loss and bone density loss. My goal is to get strong enough to strangle the life out of the remaining cancer cells.

We wrap you in love and faith. With what i call a "sneaky" cancer we must stay vigilent with knowing we fight the good fight everyday. Encoursging each other knowing we do our best with the knowledge and faith we have. I'm so sorry for your loss.
