a month agoCan a diagnosis be obtained by blood tests only or does a bone marrow biopsy always need to be done ?? Thanks in advance for your help.🙂

a month agoThis is such an important question about diagnostic procedures for myelodysplastic syndromes. Blood tests can provide valuable clues and may show abnormal blood cell counts or unusual cell appearance, but bone marrow biopsy is typically needed for a definitive MDS diagnosis since it allows doctors to examine the bone marrow directly where these conditions originate. Many community members here have navigated similar diagnostic journeys, and sharing experiences about these procedures can be really helpful for understanding what to expect.
