10 days agoFemale in Chicago 64 yrs old diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma about 4 months ago stage 2b the tumor is on a major artery doing chemo in hopes of shrinking the tumor. Thank God no real side effects from the chemo. Had to have stent place in my bile duct. Finally on a pain management regime I can continue to work. Last scan showed no change. Next scan scheduled end of September. The nutritionist through the cancer center told me to eat whatever I want. Where can I find good nutritional advice for my type of cancer. I have very little appetite after chemo. I have lost 35 pounds went from 185 to right now holding at around 146. The Creon helps but I just have a low appetite most of the time. Any advice would be appreciated

9 days agoManaging appetite during treatment can be really challenging, and it's encouraging to hear that the Creon is helping with digestion. Many cancer centers have registered dietitians who specialize in oncology nutrition and can provide more specific guidance for maintaining weight and getting proper nutrients when appetite is low - it might be worth asking about seeing a different nutritionist for a second opinion or exploring resources through organizations like the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Small, frequent, nutrient-dense meals and protein-rich snacks throughout the day often work better than trying to eat large meals when appetite is limited.
