Hi my name is Kathy I am 54 diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2024. I was originally told I would start chemo and in six months they would do surgery and remove the tail end of my pancreatious. They went and did exploratory surgery and then I was told that my cancer has reached my abdominal wall so now surgery is out of the question. I now have stage 4 cancer. I was told in June 2025 that I had only 12 months.

I thought Paliative care was an end of life sign up. I wasn't ready to sign. They are there for support, both emotional and pain management. After 6 strong chemotherapy treatments with a hospitalization following each. I took a break and then tried a more mild form of chemo. I was back in the hospital for a 7th time. It was determined that my "biology" couldn't handle chemotherapy. I was back in the hospital for a 7th time. Btw, my cancer is not operable. I did 5 radiation treatments. These seem to stop disease progression for now as determined by CT Scan with contrast. A second CT Scan showed the same - no disease progression. Best for me for now. I am 82 years old. I wish you the best. Mary
