How do I manage pneumonitis after cancer treatment?

I went to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute yesterday for a consultation and was told by 2 specialists that I no longer have cancer! My health is still challenged with grade 3 pneumonitis caused by a combination of radiation and the targetted drug Tagrisso. So right now it is supportive care with high dose steroids, rest and additional oxygen. I will know in a few months if the pneumonitis resolves. I keep praying as God and my medical team have brought me this far.

What wonderful news about being cancer-free! Managing pneumonitis after treatment can be challenging, and it sounds like you're working closely with your medical team on the right supportive care approach. Many patients find that pneumonitis can improve with time and proper treatment, though recovery timelines vary for each person. Your positive outlook and strong support system of faith and medical care can be valuable during this recovery period - wishing you continued healing in the months ahead.

Great news! Hang in there – hopefully you’re lingering side effects will keep diminishing. Sending you prayers.
