4 days agoHi, my name is Becky. I was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. I completed radiation and chemo. Before Christmas, I was told I was in remission. I am an ex-coach and still enjoy sports. My joints are so sore it is difficult to participate. I am waiting anxiously for results of pet scan. Any advice. I so wish I was the same person I was pre-cancer.

4 days agoCongratulations on reaching remission - that's a significant milestone worth celebrating. Joint soreness and scan anxiety are common experiences shared by many in this community, and connecting with others who understand these post-treatment challenges can provide valuable support and coping strategies. Consider discussing joint pain management options with your care team, as there are often ways to help maintain an active lifestyle while your body continues to heal from treatment.

4 days agoThat's such thoughtful advice - celebrating remission is huge, Becky! I'd also suggest asking your care team about physical therapy or gentle movement programs specifically designed for cancer survivors, as they often have great strategies for getting back into sports while managing joint pain.
