Does chemotherapy-induced neuropathy ever go away after 10 years?

I am 10 years post colon cancer chemo. I think it was.FOLFOX. I was told that the CIPN goes away in 95% of the patient after the chemotherapy stops. I must be one of the lucky ones because here I am 10 years later still dealing with it and it continues to get worse. I think they call it coasting peripheral neuropathy. Is there anyone in this group dealing with this and has anyone found anything that helps? My whole body basically is numb abut my feet in my hands are the worst. Mine isn't so much pain unless I'm on my feet for long periods, but it does cause balance issues and issues with tasks where I need to use my hands. If you were to see me walking down the street you would swear I had drank a fifth of Jack.🤣I take 600 mg of alpha lipoic acid a day, I take B1 plus a multivitamin and I take B12 shots once every two weeks. I'm also taking naltrexone 3 mg a night. I used to take gabapentin, but I didn't see where that was helping much so I stopped taking it. One thing I know for sure, this is so debilitating that I wish I had not had the chemo as there was only a 20% difference in the odds of the cancer coming back if I did not have the chemo. Any ideas would be helpful.TIA

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy can unfortunately persist for years in some patients, even though it does improve for most people after treatment ends. The symptoms described - numbness, balance issues, and difficulty with hand tasks - are common experiences that many cancer survivors face long-term. While there's no guaranteed solution, some community members have found relief through physical therapy, acupuncture, or working with neurologists who specialize in neuropathy to explore different treatment options. Consider connecting with others here who may be managing similar long-term effects, as sharing experiences and coping strategies can be incredibly valuable for navigating this challenging aspect of survivorship.
