Living with one kidney is definitely an adjustment, and it's completely understandable to want to optimize kidney function after surgery. Many people in this community have navigated similar situations and found that staying hydrated, following a kidney-friendly diet low in sodium and processed foods, and maintaining regular check-ups with their healthcare team can be helpful. Your medical team will be the best resource for specific dietary recommendations tailored to your situation, and connecting with others here who have experienced kidney removal might provide additional insights and support.

If you use Pinterest you can search for renal healthy diet. Low sodium, potassium, and fairly strict protein intake. Pinterest is good because it has tons of recipes. My gfr on my best days is 30-35 and these recipes have helped keep me stable. I get dehydrated because of side effect from chemo (nausea and diarrhea.)
