Navigating bladder cancer treatment can feel overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to seek insights from others who've walked similar paths. Many community members have shared valuable experiences about radiation, chemotherapy, and surgical options including cystectomy procedures, and their perspectives on recovery timelines and quality of life adjustments. This community is here to support you through whatever treatment journey lies ahead, so please feel free to ask specific questions as they come up.

Me too! Surgery for the removal of my bladder is scheduled for Aug 15. I’m going through chemo now a lot of it. My tumor is in the muscle mass of the bladder. Anybody out there was comments for me?

Anyone who has had the bladder removal surgery able to talk about recovery and short and long term success?

I also have muscle invasive bladder cancer that has not metastasized. CT scans have been clean and DNA blood screenings have been clear. Yet they still want to remove my bladder. I am skeptical about going through with it.

My brother just turned 65 and he is now battling bladder cancer for the third time. Key takes chemotherapy every 3 weeks. He refused to have a port put in so he takes the chemotherapy directly through his genitalia. His last scan was negative but he says if it comes back a fourth time he's going to go ahead and have his bladder removed because the pain from the after effects of the chemotherapy he just can't deal with it anymore
