2 days agoHi, I have stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. Started Rybrevant IV treatment. Feeling alive and decent. I am having a plurex tube/pleurodesis surgery this upcoming Monday to deal with the fluid that continues to buildup in my lung. Has anyone had this surgery? What does recovery look like? Did the procedure work? Is the tube difficult to drain at home? Any advice or thoughts would be helpful. Thank you

2 days agoRecovery from pleurodesis can vary from person to person, but many patients find relief from the fluid buildup once the procedure is successful. The PleuRx tube system is designed to be manageable at home with proper training, though having support from family or caregivers during the initial recovery period can be really helpful. Hopefully other community members who have been through this experience will share their insights about what to expect during recovery and any tips for managing the drainage system.
