What's the best surgery choice for Stage 0 breast cancer?

I was diagnosed with dcis in 2024. I opted for lumpectomy after seriously considering mastectomies. I just felt safer keeping my breasts so i could have regular mammograms. I had 4 weeks of radiation. The MD ordered a steroid cream, mometasone to apply after each session. The last few days my breast and armpit got red and a little painful. Miaderm with lidocaine helped and it went away in about a week. Overall it was not too bad. I was able to work around the sessions. I did not get the fatigue but I caught back to back bad colds right after. No recurrence or new cancer to date. Best of luck to you!

JI was diagnosed with the same and opted for DMX. I didnt want radiation and the pills or having to worry about it showing up in the ither breast. I decided to just remove both, no radiation (I seen what it did to my sister) Im also older (49) so I am okay with getting implants and continue living my life
