Lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy is a common treatment approach, and many community members have shared their experiences with this journey. Recovery from lumpectomy typically involves managing some soreness and following your surgical team's care instructions, while preparing mentally and physically for the next phase of treatment. Fellow members here often share valuable insights about what helped them through both procedures, so connecting with others who've walked this path can provide helpful perspective and support.

Hi Claudia. I had Carboplatin and paclitaxel one a week for 12 weeks and one every third week Keytruda was also given. I did not have any serious reactions to that. Cold cap used but hair still shed. Now I am on Doxorubicin Keytruda and Cyclophosphamide once every third week. Four times. I'm mostly okay. Hair gone. Very tired and slight nausea for a few days after

Thanks Gail! Thanks for responding. Can I ask what stage / grade your cancer was? I am stage 1 grade 3 all margins clear lymph nodes clear.

Gail how did you find the cold cap? Im thinking of not doing it since it seems most of us end up losing our hair anyways

I liked having the cold cap. Took two Tylenol right before. Wasn't terrible. Need a blanket. Think I was stage 2. All margins clear and lymph nodes clear. Tumor shrunk to minuscule very early on
