3 days agoHas anyone had mucositis and can recommend good home treatments. There is a magic mouthwash that has medication and lidocaine. The mouthwash is a compound so they have to order all the ingredients to make it and it's been taking longer to get the mouthwash. Therefore I'm using warm salt water to gargle and milk of magnesia I apply with a q-tip to sooth the tongue, but it's not always a remedy for the pain. I need more options 😩.

3 days agoI did have it during treatment but was able to get the mouthwash that has to be compounded. It helped quite a bit. I’m sorry you are having to deal with this. Praying for complete healing for you.

3 days agoMucositis pain can be incredibly challenging to manage, and it sounds like the delay with the magic mouthwash is making things even more difficult. Some community members have shared that cooling foods like ice chips, popsicles, or cold smoothies can provide temporary numbing relief, while others find gentle coconut oil swishing or aloe vera gel (food-grade) soothing for irritated tissues. Hopefully others in the community will share what has worked for them during treatment.
