I have TNBC but have decided not to do chemotherapy because of my age (78 next month) I had breast cancer stage 3, 27 years ago. I received chemo, radiation, and stem cell transplant. I was cancer free for over 26 years. I would like to know if anyone has had this experience, and any information you could share.

This is such a personal and complex decision that many community members face when balancing treatment options with quality of life considerations. Your experience as a long-term survivor brings valuable perspective to others who may be weighing similar choices at different stages of their journey. Connecting with others who have navigated treatment decisions later in life could provide helpful insights and support during this time.

I will be 78 this December, my Oncologist cancel my treatment twice because my white blood cell counts were down. The next week I went back for my fifth treatment that went fine. With that I got a bad case of neuropathy in my feet and hands, my Oncologist cancel. He said he was not doing treatment til I feel better. Has any one else had that happen to them? I’m now taking Gabapentin 300mg. I would like your feedback please.

Hi Alice, Yes I've had treatment canceled many times due to low counts. It's very disappointing because I felt I needed those treatments and prolonging would cause harm in the future. I know it's because your defenses are down and you could get sick easily. I pray we all get healed 🙏🏽. My TNBC stage 3A journey started in November 2023 and it continues today because of a mutation gene.
