5 months agoHi. My NHL was found in July, 2024. It was classified as Stage IV, Nodal Zone Marginal Lymphoma. It had spread to bone marrow. I started treatment in November of Immunology-Rituximab. In Dec, they saw almost complete remission and placed on a 2 year maintenance plan, going in every other month for Rituximab. If there anyone who has a similar diagnosis? Since it is 2 years of maintenance, I’m not sure if I am still severely immune compromised. I want to travel, but am afraid of catching things. Anyone have a similar fear? I go to MD Anderson.

It's completely understandable to have concerns about travel and immune health while on maintenance therapy. Many people in this community share similar worries about balancing their desire to live fully with protecting their health during treatment. Your healthcare team at your treatment center would be the best source for guidance on travel precautions specific to your situation and maintenance schedule. Consider connecting with others here who may have navigated similar decisions during their own maintenance phases.

5 months agoAsk your oncologist or his nurse assistant. I am in remission also and don't worry about it unless I'm in a large group. My mind set is I have to get back to living my life.

4 days agoI was diagnosed with stage 4 bone marrow NH Marginal Zone Lymphoma 3 months ago.My question is off topic but I’m interested in how you handled the Rituxan treatments because I started my first treatment and after 30 minutes of a 6 hour treatment I experienced a severe reaction. My blood pressure plummeted to a critical level, vomiting and painful pressure in shoulders and neck. This treatment was recommended because I also have a renal transplant and the goal is to preserve viable kidney function while undergoing treatment. I’m scheduled to meet the Oncologist in a week and I’m worried about finding a treatment plan that my weak body can handle. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. TY Laura

4 days agoAt my first treatment, I had an allergic reaction. My lips and throat tingled. They stopped the treatment and pumped me full of benedryl. So far, so good. I just sleep through it! I am halfway through maintenance with Rituximab every 8 weeks, will finish next year. I am so sorry you are having such severe reaction to this drug. I have no other comparisons to share, but wish you well in finding one that will work. Please stay in touch. I haven’t found anyone else with this type of Lymphoma.
