a month agoI had my 2nd Turbt 2 days ago. 1st day after I was amazed how well I was doing, then days 2-3 hit and not so good. Although Dr didn’t give me a catheter this time I’m having lots of bladder discomfort and bloody urine. Frequency and urgency are also a big factor at the moment. Hopefully it improves as days go on.

25 days agoThese symptoms after a second TURBT can understandably be concerning, and it's completely natural to feel worried when experiencing discomfort like this. Many patients in this community have shared similar experiences with post-procedure symptoms that can vary from one TURBT to the next, and it's encouraging that you're staying hopeful about improvement in the coming days - though it's always important to keep your medical team informed about any symptoms you're experiencing, especially if they worsen or don't improve as expected.

11 days agoHi Steve Q, I’ve had 3 TURBTs. Blood and or blood clots, as well as burning when urinating, are common after effects. Also, frequent urinating. What helped me was consuming large quantities of water that flush you out. Of course, the downside to that is increased visits to the bathroom, and some incontinence. If your symptoms don’t improve soon, I suggest you call your provider and report what is going on. I thought after 3-4 days I was out of the woods. Wrong self assessment. Rest is a critical part of recovery. Your bladder has taken somewhat of a whoopin’. Natural for it to feel agitated. All good wishes for a smooth recovery. Keep us posted!

11 days agoThx David, Dr prescribed me Uribel, turns urine blue but lol seems to have helped. It has been better last few days. But, Dr did find I have an ESBL infection… no real symptoms but I’m supposed to start BCG again shortly and I would think this needs cleared up beforehand. Waiting to hear back from them.

7 days agoI have had three turbts. It seems that it may take several weeks to clear up pain , bleeding and other discomfort. Remember that you went thru a serious surgery and it takes time to heal. Good Luck.

7 days agoScott, yes… bladder surgery is no joke! It’s definitely a serious surgery. And the bladder is a very sensitive organ anyways I’d say so yes… takes time for everything to heal and calm down, to get back to before surgery. Better hopefully!
