3 days agoI just had my prostatectomy done on 6/11/26. The cancer was believed to be contained only to the prostate. However, upon removal of the prostate, they found cancer cells on the bladder. These cells were shaved of and believed to be clear. While the lymph nodes were not part of the original surgery, the surgeon decided to remove them and have tested. My condition is unique in the fact that I cannot have an MRI due to metal in my abdomen from 1967.

2 days agoWhen cancer spreads beyond the prostate during surgery, it means the cancer had grown further than initial tests could detect, but the good news is that your surgical team was able to address it right away by removing the affected tissue from the bladder and checking that the area was clear. The decision to also remove and test lymph nodes shows your surgeon was being thorough to get the complete picture of your situation, which will help guide any next steps in your care.
