How to stay active with multiple myeloma during Darzalex treatment?

I have multiple myeloma and am currently getting Darzalex (daratumumab) injections and taking dexamethasone. I've been dealing with fatigue and muscle weakness, which makes it hard to stay active. I came across some helpful tips about starting small with movement - like walking short distances and timing exercise around when I have the most energy. Since my treatment can be pretty draining, I'm wondering how others have managed to stay moving during similar treatments. • What types of gentle movement or exercise worked best for you during treatment? • How did you handle the fatigue and still find energy to be active? I'd love to hear what has worked for others with multiple myeloma, especially if you've been on similar treatments. Staying active during Darzalex treatment can be challenging, but gentle movement often helps manage fatigue over time. Many patients find success with short walks, light stretching, or chair exercises when energy levels allow, and listening to your body's signals about when to rest versus when to move can make a real difference in maintaining some activity during treatment.

I have been treated with daratumamab since November of 2024. I have fatigue, but it is not from the drug. Dexamethasone makes you feel great like you could run a marathon. The crash from that is real. This treatment worked for about 18 months, and my IgA started climbing again. Don't overthink it. It helps your immune system.

I had the same problems. Steroids were very rough & now have type 2 diabetes. I swim and have physical therapy in the pool. Has been very helpful. Good wishes!

I actually have the total opposite effect I hardly have any side effects from the injection and the steroids give me so much energy that I can barely sleep at night but the following days that come down can be very rough but I’m sorry to hear about the fatigue yeah I get the opposite effect
